Work started in August, 2011. First, to ensure a full 8′ ceiling, the dirt floor in the Outback was dug down a foot or two. The digging had to be done by hand. Then several inches of foamboard insulation was laid down and a 4″ reinforced concrete floor was poured.
To get the concrete in, we removed a section of sheathing. Then our neighbor allowed us to bring a truck into their back yard, and the concrete was poured in through the wall.
